HOW INTEGRATIVE CARE IMPROVES MENTAL WELLNESS
The integrative approach is a whole body consideration to mental health disorders, utilizing multiple fields of medicine, sports and nutritional sciences, combined with traditional psychiatric care. We educate clients in order to regain mental wellness through the use of individualized genetic and metabolic testing, nutritional therapies, dietary and lifestyle interventions. These methods can be used in conjunction with traditional psychiatric approaches like medications and psychotherapy. Relevant laboratory analysis is used to evaluate and treat underlying biomedical issues which may include nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, infections, toxicities, and genetic disorders. By focusing on an individual's unique genetic, biochemical, and nutritional status, customized treatment plans can be implemented to provide better wellness outcomes.

ABOUT DR. ANDERSON
Miesha is originally from Muskogee, Oklahoma. Growing up in a close, family-focused, rural, dirt road community, she learned the value of connection. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2004. Receiving the Native American Indian Success scholarship as a member of the Cherokee tribe led her to move to Arizona in order to work and live on the Hopi Reservation. The strong women in this matriarchal culture became not only her mentors but also her extended family. Before moving to Wisconsin, Miesha began her graduate education at Arizona State University. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2008, becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin as a Child Advocacy provider. It was during this experience that she learned the effects of childhood trauma and her innate ability to comfort in even the most intense times of hardship. When she had the opportunity to move to Colorado, it was an offer she could not refuse. Thrilled to move to the beautiful Rocky Mountains, Miesha worked in the Emergency Department at Children's Hospital of Colorado. When her daughter Adelaide was born, it was time to work closer to home in Winter Park. She began providing primary pediatric care, becoming more passionate about mental health and wellness. From 2010 through 2019, the holistic treatment of children and families was her focus. Miesha often taught workshops about essential oils and the importance of self-care. Empowering and guiding families regarding tips that could be used when illness strikes at the most inopportune times proved invaluable. Inspired to learn more and provide the most up to date, evidence based psychiatric interventions, Miesha began her Post Masters education as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt University. Devoted to learning, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University in the Spring of 2022. Integrative psychiatry is the focus of her research, specifically focusing on Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback as a treatment modality for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. She continues to precept students in her practice and will soon return to teaching as a faculty in nursing education. Mountain biking, running, hiking, rafting, cooking, spending time with family and friends, praying, and traveling are some of Miesha's favorite things. She has always thrived being in the desert and feels there is healing energy among the incredible open skies and glorious geological wonders. She is a member of Fellowship Church and is thrilled to call the Grand Valley home.
